Following the release of their new album ‘The Reworks’; Pendulum have today announced a very special remix competition, offering the fans the chance to spin their own interpretation on one the band’s classic tracks. Fans were provided with a social poll to choose the winner and chose 2007 classic ‘Granite’.
Taken from the group’s iconic 2nd album ‘In Silico’, ‘Granite’ has amassed over 8 million Spotify streams to date, becoming one of their most popular anthems, with the winner’s rework set to be launched as an official remix on Pendulum’s Earstorm label.
With the band choosing their favourite remix via user submissions on Splice, the hosting website will accept submissions for 4 weeks after the competition launches. With prizes on offer for 4 runners up as well as the Splice Sounds Community able to pick a favourite too. The prizes on offer are; An official release on Earstorm, £500, a copy of Pendulum Complete Works Boxset, a phone call from one of the label heads at Earstorm Records, Kilohearts ‘The Works’ plugin bundle, Kilohearts plugin of the winners choice & 1 year Splice Sounds subscription. The competition follows the end of Pendulum’s 7 year hiatus; and follows the band’s blistering set’s at UK’s Reading & Leeds Festival’s headlining the Radio 1 Stage. As well as sell-out shows at London’s Printworks in April of this year and a run of sold out Australian dates in Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Sydney.
With the new Reworks album featuring mixes from the likes of Skrillex, Moby, and Icarus, fans now have the chance to join the esteemed list of names to have contributed an official Pendulum remix. With a headline show on NYE at Origins Festival in Perth Australia already announced this marks an exciting new chapter in their relaunch.
